Is 9 a tough stage for boys or is this just my ADHD son??

One minute he is my sweet boy and the next he is like a surly and "angsty" teen with an attitude. More concerning is we have caught him lying a lot lately, attitude, back talk, a lot more impulsivity and remorse once he's done something he knows he shouldn't. Sadly, overtime we have become desensitized to his apologies. He does have ADHD and we are likely going to trial some medication here soon to see if this helps.

On set of puberty is hard

Mine, also ADHD, was easy but he did not start puberty until he was 14.

Has he started puberty?

We're in the same boat- mine is nearly eleven, puberty can certainly start at nine. We began seeing more drama, defiance, emotional displays about six months ago...but also a tremendous sweetness and larger reflection.
