| Our sons K teacher sent us a postcard (how sweet) and told us to learn more about her to visit a classroom social media page. It's private, not sure if I want my sons teacher to be able to see my social media in return.. thoughts? |
| Is it FB or Insta (or something else)? |
| Do a second account and use that for the school stuff. |
If it's just FB, you do have the ability to control what posts people see. I'm FB friends with the headmaster and I routinely select "Friends except" and then specify him. |
It's a private instagram. I may just create one to see what's going on in the class. |
You don't have to reciprocate a follow on Instagram the way you do on Facebook. You can follow the class Insta, and if she requests to follow you, you can either just ignore the follow or block her (whichever works best for you). I follow lots of people on Insta who don't follow me, and vice-versa. I also block liberally.

| I always swipe left when I see teachers from my children's school on tinder (even the cute ones). |

Postcards before school? Inviting you to look at her classroom page?
Wishing x100 that our incoming K teacher would do this! How thoughtful. |
| You can follow the classroom on instagram but don't have to have her follow you. It's not that hard. |
| omg learn about social media before you start complaining. |
Ding ding ding. I would be thrilled to have my kid in a class with a teacher who was this tech/media savvy. |
