I know everyone has to sign confidentiality agreements, but why?
Probably because it's a personnel/hiring matter. How much does your workplace make public about who's interviewing for a position?
Imagine what a rumor circus it would be if this was all out in the open. If a great AP wanted to interview, his or her school community will flip out. Disgruntled parents could taint the search by spreading lies about a candidate or interviewing school.
|
Because its NONE of YOUR BUSINESS.
okay?? |
You're a little touchy
It's not an elected position. You don't get to know who the candidates are.
Is this really a process that hundreds of parents need to weigh in on?
Actually yes, parents do get to weigh in once the candidate is announced.
Also: MCPS doesn't do anything to protect staff. They don't want parents freaking out that their principal is looking to leave. They also don't want to advertise that their principal wasn't chosen for the position he or she sought.
