Did anyone watch the OCTOMOM footage last night???? OMG!!!!

Talk about a train wreck on the way to Crazytown! I had the sickest feeling in my stomach for allowing myself to watch it and contribute to the exploitation of those poor children--who are already completely doomed, with our without the world watching.

My favorite highlights (or lowlights):

-Octomom's toddler slapping her (among others) in the face and pointing and shouting "BITCH!" at her, after trying to kick one of the octuplets.

-The older children crying and hiding from the cameras and trying to shove them away. (so sad)

-Octomom going on a psycho-rant when someone handed her photos of Kate (Jon & Kate) in a bikini, accusing her of trying to get attention and then claiming her body is WAY BETTER than Kate's before tearing up the photos and throwing them away.

-Octomom on the phone (not hands-free) while driving and being videotaped while yapping to someone about her hilarious memory from when she was 17 of making her mother ride in the TRUNK of her car because she got sprayed by a skunk and Octomom was driving crazy on purpose to piss her mom off and she remembered laughing so hard because she could hear her mom's body rolling from side to side in the trunk.

-CPS coming to the house 2x


I hate myself for watching it, but I just. couldn't. look. away. Anyone else??

I also felt filthy for watching it but I could not look away either. How about the scene when all the kids were laid out on the bed in various stages of crying to screaming while the older six kids whined, fought and otherwise acted out to get attention. I think it is so sad that Octomom had so many kids, in part, because she felt emotionally neglected by her own mother. How in the world will she be able to provide enough emotional nurturance to fourteen? She is going to repeat the same pathetic cycle (which is already evident as all of those kids seemed miserable!).

I only got to watch clips of it here and there, but I found it ridiculous that she claimed she wasn't vain and didn't harp on her appearance (she was saying the plastic surgery rumors were lies) yet she still takes the time to get her nails done regularly?

Definitely not saying all women who get their nails done are vain, but I'm guessing those women don't have 14 kids to take care of.

Also: Did anyone see the part where she got that tattoo on her shoulder? Tattoos are not cheap! That one was probably at least $200. How is it she can afford to blow that much on a tattoo? Disgusting.

I watched it and my husband was mortified that I had any interest in it and told me that I am destroying my sons brain cells (he was playing while I watched it).
I couldnt help but to be curious how she handles 8 babies plus the older kids at once.
I was disturbed that the 2 year old called her a bitch - where the hell did he learn that?!?!?!

The two year old yelled out bitch a dozen times! And hit her and the camera man and bit the older brother! And all Octomom would do is say "time out" (yeah right) or "gentle touches!" Good luck lady.

I didn't watch it, but she seems a dismal dismal freak of a person. Even the best moms out there cannot handle 8 babies, let alone another 6 on top of that. Her kids should be taken away from her. It's abuse.

Yeah, I don't get it either. I have no desire to watch a human tragedy unfold on television. Especially, where there are young children involved who cannot make choices for themselves.

OP here, and I totally get what you are saying. Which is why I said I hate myself for watching it and contributing to the exploitation. But you really don't understand why it is entertaining? COME ON! That's like saying chocolate cake is full of sugar and will make you fat and affect your health and well-being -- but I sure as hell know why people love (and eat) chocolate cake!

Not the PP, but no, I really don't see the entertainment value in this. It's heartbreaking. I derive joy - a lot of joy - from chocolate cake, fat and calories be damned. I don't derive any joy from this situation.
