Has anyone ever been to Restaurant Depot?

Are there good deals? I heard that they have a good frozen seafood, cheese and meat selection. I am not sure whether they are better than BJ's or Costco, so just want to check this place out. (One of my family member has a membership but he doesn't seem to go there often.)

Do you have any recommendations for a home cook?

I got all my sheet pans there and they are holding up beautifully. I also get things like cake decorating tips and accessories.

I already have enough pots and pans but if I needed anything like that I would definitely get them there.

They are way better than any of the places you mentioned.

Their prices on food products are a little bit lower than Costco or BJ's, but their sizes on many products are enormous. Think 5 lb. containers of marshmallow fluff or 50 gallon drums of soy sauce. They do stock some meats that are hard to obtain elsewhere (think packer briskets, plate short ribs, etc.), various restaurant foods (frozen chicken tenders, etc.), and lots of restaturant supplies st great prices (sheet pans, tongs, pizza boxes, equipment, etc.). You do need a business license, though a KCBS membership will also get you in with a one-day pass (as many times as you want).

Thanks for all your input. I will definitely check them out!

KCBS is the Kansas City Barbcue Society. It is an organization that sanctions BBQ contests. You can join, which requires an annual fee of $35, I believe. You also have to take an oath to uphold the principles of barbecue. And as part of your membership, you can get day passes to Restaurant Depot. Their website is www.kcbs.us.

Restaurant Depot is a $hitshow. You have to sign a liability waiver if you bring children in. Even as an adult they've almost hit me with a forklift. They just zoom around and you have to look out for them, not the other way around. The prices are ok but high for what you get because you end up throwing so much out. Not worth it.

Considering it's a true wholesale restaurant supply store, maybe you should leave your rugrats home. It's clearly not a place for kids.
