| I'm looking for something appropriate for a 12 yo girl with some social skills challenges--a magazine with tips on friendship, social situations but also fun articles that isn't too young or too old. She is definitely past the American Girl magazine stage (which is too bad b/c I thought it was really well done). Thanks for any suggestions. |
| This doesn't exist yet, but friend of a friend is trying to start such a magazine: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1954549474/strong-the-magazine-for-girls |
| Girls Life fits the bill. Also teen vogue has been great lately and your daughter is in their target demographic. |
| Thanks for the replies! I'll check out Girls Life and Teen Vogue. The kickstarter mag looks interesting. |
| I hope the Strong girl magazine works out! |
| American Girl has several books on friendships and other social things that are totally appropriate for a 12 year old! |
| Discovery Girls |
| Justine magazine is the only one cool enough for teens but not raunchy. |
No, the "Teen Vogue" thing is soooooo overrated. Yes, they did some decent political journalism, but it's still chock full with awful messages about how you should look, dress, etc. |

Teen Vogue has been complete trash lately. |
This. Any ideas for conservative families would be great. |
How conservative are you? Typically your chosen house of worship fills this void. They don’t like it when you get facts that they haven’t approved from other sources. |

New Moon Girls is great: https://newmoongirls.com/free-digital-new-moon-girls-magazine/
No beauty and fashion, lots on positive self image. |
| Is there anything like this for boys? Or for both girls and boys? |
