| What's the best value in terms of quality service, competitive pricing, and no excessive up-selling of unnecessary services? I've tried a few out, but would appreciate others' perspectives. Thank you! |
| A nice, independent shop is best. |
yup and tires at costco |
| Do NoT go to Midas. The worst ever. |

+1000 I've had nothing but bad experiences with big chain shops trying to rip me off. |
| Walmart. |
| If you are in MD or close in, I can recommend, Method Automotive - good independent shop. Website is at methodautomotive dot com. |
I like Walmart too for basics like oil changes and tires. It's pretty much all they do so there's no upsell for additional services. |
| Radial Tires in Silver Spring. They are very honest and never try to upsell. You have to arrive early in the morning, and get online with your car. There are always a lot of people waiting to get in. |

I like the Jiffy Lube on Bladensberg Road just over the DC/MD line for oil/filter changes, tire rotations, and topping up the fluids. It's family-run and they have a good team of hardworking younger guys there.
I like Costco for tires, free air and rotations (if you buy their tires). I LOVE Auto Tech Services in Adams Morgan for any major servicing and tune-ups. They are phenomenal, read their Yelp reviews. I just got my car back today from a complete suspension overhaul. I won't take my car anywhere else for major work. https://www.yelp.com/biz/auto-tech-service-washington |
