| Can someone explain in very simple terms why a MLS Next kid born in November 2008 is going to have no problems with getting recruited and signed to a good college soccer program but an ECNL November 2008 kid will have barricades? |
and they go to the same HS |
Is MLS next goal pro or college? Is the MLS Next kid born in November biobanded? |
Technically they didn’t address it at all. Technically they discussed the topic of trapped players, not of ECNL discussions to make a change, etc…. And there you have the “I saw a photo…” lack of proof. Put the photo on Imgur and send a link to this thread then! |
100% because of the home environment. |
This isn't even close to an answer of the question posed |
The MLS Next kid is not biobanded |
I don’t know what Imgur is? Why don’t you make an email address and post it here and I’ll send it to you. |
You should check out page 3 on this so cal thread. https://socalsoccer.com/threads/get-ready-folks.21527/page-3 |
“Sent to me this morning (9/18)” But it’s the exact same language as the email on page 42 of this thread (9/14) An email that was posted as text on talking-soccer a week ago (9/11) with nobody having actually received the email, but just “a buddy sent me this screenshot.” The sender is blacked out, so nobody can even validate it. But the screenshot has the jankiest logos I’ve ever seen. Also, it seems you ran to a few message boards to direct everyone to “socalsoccer page 3”. I dunno bruh, this seems like you’re selling everyone really hard on this “it’s happening” thing. Not to be reflexive, but I think this “evidence” doesn’t hold up to scrutiny. Again, just post it on Imgur and send the link if it was sent to you. It’s not hard to figure out how to do that. |
| I think ECNL will make a change. It is waiting to see if USYS or someone higher up will make the exact change on a boarder scale. If not, then ECNL will announce its own change within the ECNL system. |
The silence is deafening |
Not my picture I just saw the post on the CA thread. |
If you’re just talking about the recruiting window barricades … My understanding is that MLS Next is considered the higher tier of play for boys. Scouts for boys will spend more time going to MLS games, and initially guess that the MLS player is just stronger before seeing them. The MLS player’s older teammates, many of whom want to go pro, will stay engaged during their younger teammate’s college recruiting window. So the MLS player will easily get in front of scouts. The ECNL player is going to be overlooked because he relies on showcases for scouting, and he’s at the wrong age group there, or not there at all bc his teammates no longer want to go. But even though the MLS player has some advantages, if his goal is college, not pro, he does also have some “barricades.” He’s just more likely to overcome them. |
