This very long thread has shown that one side (mostly) has been responding with specific academic policy reasons or at least a general support for focusing on academics and facility management. And the other side (almost exclusively) has been resonding with insults, slurs, conspiracy theories and topics that have nothing to do with education.
Hopefully this contrast in the positions and posts of both sides will help voters and parents to decide which positions they want represented on the school board, and what priorities they want (academics and facilities vs other stuff) over the next 4 years in FCPS. Time will tell. |
BTW a GOP candidate used the n word in front of students at Oakton day

Which part was a lie? |
Still waiting to hear an example of a comment that you think was inaccurately called a lie… |
This wasn't "well said." If it were "well said," PP would have found a few other words to use besides "rancid" and "fascist," both of which made PP look silly and unhinged. And at a time when we see on the global stage the negative consequences of extreme polarization, demonizing one's political adversaries to this degree - particularly when we all know Democrats will retain control of the School Board and the only issue is whether there's room for any contrary perspectives - is wildly over-the-top and unnecessary. |
Who? |
Please share your sources of how the spamming occurred with the IT Department at FCPS so that they can fix the problem, particularly because our kids’ private information is handled through those devices. And, FYI, parents don’t have access to the school provided computers from where staff and students overwhelmingly disagree with the survey. |
“overwhelming majority of parents” Parents didn’t use devices. |
Not sure I understand what you mean, but to clarify, every parent with children in FCPS received the survey via the personal email registered for each parent with the school. That’s how I got access to the survey and I filled it out through my phone (a device). My spouse used the computer at home (a device). How about you? Are you also a parent in FCPS? How did you receive the survey? And how did you fill it out? |
Stop being obtuse. Parents didn’t use FCPS devices per the dumb “share your sources” comment above. ![]() Some parent surveys are sent via a single-use link, but not this survey which was anonymous. Anyone could have responded. |
I get it now! It looks like you used someone else’s link to respond to their survey. Sorry I’m a little bit slow… So, how did you get access to staff’s computers and student laptops (issued individually by FCPS) to fill out their surveys? Because they also OVERWHELMINGLY sided with the parents. |
It’s always a “heads I win, tails you lose” situation with the current School Board when it comes to public input. If the input supports their position, it will be touted as “strong public support.” If it does not, the results will be ignored or discounted, with a typical pretext being that a survey was flawed. Yet one more reason why we need more diversity of views on the school board. |
we always kept genders together even in the 1980’s |
+1 Equating this very normal educational practice with storming the Capitol is disgusting. |
