I thought he was completely gross in both of his small roles on Sex and the City. Aside from that I'd only seen him in a few pap photos with Jennifer Aniston and thought he was pretty meh looking.
But OMG he is perfect in The Leftovers. The eyes! The lashes! The facial scruff! The skin tone and muscle tone!

I also really enjoyed Jeffrey Dean Morgan in Magic City and, a bit of a throwback, Michael Madsen in Thelma and Louise.
