| I guess you guys missed the post where 80% of the people have already relocated to Florida, or just chose to ignore it |
|
The fact that DeSantis thought he could outsmart Disney's legal team is absolutely hilarious to me.
They will take his a.s down and they will enjoy doing it too. |
They’ve already done it. Responded by saying the state would have to pony up 1 billion for the law to take effect. So unless Desantis wants to hike taxes… it’s already over. |
You can be arrested in Florida for saying climate change. It’s the law. |
Well, yeah in many ways. I am fairly certain that we are not going to acquire property in any state that may be under GOP rule for the foreseeable future, largely based on their responses to the pandemic. The risk to health is just too great if the state leaders do not believe in science and refuse to implement measures to safeguard the public's well-being. It's two years later and I am still in shock at how quickly the GOP politicized basic public health protocols. I may visit a red state, but I don't plan on spending my sizeable tax dollars through property holdings in one. |

| California weather is so much better than Florida. You're within driving distance of beautiful mountains and beaches and vineyards. If you're life is in California, politics in Florida is not the only reason why you wouldn't want to relocate. |
Not true. |
| Disney hold $2B in Fl bonds… but apparently not anymore. |
I dunno. Florida has an occasional hurricane and thunderstorms. California has fires, floods, mudslides and earthquakes. Florida also has a consistent supply of water. |
That’s because you don’t live in a Republican echo chamber, just as they don’t live in yours. |
Both these places are poorly positioned to thrive in a changing climate |
Oh you mean the water with algae blooms? The water killing off manatees? And "occasional" hurricanes? Agree, if you mean, almost every year. And condos collapsing into the sea. You have have Florida. In 50'ish years, it'll be mostly under their putrid water tables. |
Agreed. Having spent significant time in both states I far prefer California. The one caveat is you want a higher income to live well in Cali than you'd need in Florida. We were fine but if you were more "middle income" you'd probably be better off in Florida than California. |
You mean the fires where people can’t breath and have to escape their homes? How about the homeless everywhere? Taxes are also through the roof. |
