Work at an association? What are your maternity benefits?

Anonymous
If you work at an association, can you share with me the name of your organization and details of your maternity benefits? I'm trying to demonstrate to my association that our maternity benefits aren't competitive so they revisit the policy.

Helpful information includes: PTO (since you often have to use that); STD policy (elimination period, duration, pay) and any additional paid leave. I need to site real examples, so please don't forget your organization name. Email is best -- lisacornbrooks (at) gmail (dot) com. Thank you!!

You may want to put in a call to the Associations of Associations (yes, there is such a thing) to see if they do benchmarking studies. You could also look at certain associations career sites and see if they list maternity leave as a benefit. Or call and ask for HR and say you're interested in the role and want to know about maternity benefits.

My assumption would be most SHOULD offer 12 weeks paid since typically working at associations, unless you're a lobbyist or your association is big coal (my husband worked there), you're not paid extremely well but benefits and work/life balance are very nice.

What type of association are you looking for? Trade, philanthropic, NGO, or professional? Bc the benefits can vary widely between the four different types.
