Infertility Support and Discussion
We're going for #2 now. How long should we try on our own before seeing a RE? First happened fast in my late 30's.
no longer than 6 months
I wouldn't even wait six months if I were you. I'd give it a couple of cycles and then at least get an evaluation to check bloodwork, make sure you don't have tube issues, etc and then go from there. Good luck.

The first important set of bloodwork results is for blood taken on day 3 with day 1 being the first menstrual cycle day of blood flow. You might see if your regular ob/gyn knows enough to take and evaluate day 3 bloodwork, and start there.
My first was easy to conceive at 39, spent all of 41 trying with help of RE, finally worked at 42. You're at the age where every month matters a lot |
We got lucky and concieved #2 on the first try at 41, so it can happen. I was even still nursing #1. I highly recommend doing accupuncture, it can help a lot with fertility. I wouldn't wait more than 2-3 months before seeing an RE. Friends have been happy with Preston Sacks. Good luck!
