When did your blond hair go dark?

My eight year old's hair is just as blond now as it was at age two. And that's VERY blond - not white, but light golden blond/yellow without a single strand of brown. Chances it will stay that color?

My hair was white blonde until maybe my early twenties, when it was more of a medium blonde. It is still naturally blonde, and a lot of people ask me where I get it colored. I'm 38.

Are you or your spouse blonde? Grandparents?

Kids in my family all start out blonde and turn dark brown. I had yellow blonde hair until middle school when it turned dirty blonde. In high school, it turned brown.

I had white blonde hair until I was about 2, then it started to change.

My daughter has the same white hair, and she is 6. No change in sight. I'm hoping it stays a long time!

I was in middle school. My DH was in his 20s when his hair went from super blond to light brown. My DD was about 10. All of us had super light blonde hair as kids but now DD and I highlight ( she's in her 20s) to get it back!

I've been dyeing mine blonde for the last 20 years so I have no idea! The roots aren't super dark though and my eyebrows are very blonde so I'd say I'm still within a medium to dark blonde in my late 30's, white blonde as a child.

Mine turned brown or dark ash blonde after having kids. It was blonde until I was around 40.

My mom was white blond until her late teens according to photos, but in her wedding photos when she was about 23, it's honey colored. The photos from 10 years later when she had kids show her hair as dark brown. Everyone else in her family has brown hair.

A woman I went to law school with had gorgeous white-blond, wavy hair. I suppose she could have dyed it, but I sat right behind her in class for 2 years and I never saw roots of any kind, haha.

Mine went dark blonde by the time I was 11 or 12. One of my kids followed that pattern and the other is still bright blonde at 13. I'm thinking he has more recessive genes.

OP here. My hair was white blond as a young kid, but even by five there was some brown mixed with blond until early teens. Husband was white blond, then yellow blond until about eight, then mousy through teens. Kid has very distinctive bright yellow blond hair at eight. The type that is very unusual in the DMV and quite distinctive.

Younger sibling has similar hair, but brown eyes. I expect the younger kid will go brown before the older one, though they both have similar shades of blond right now.

My sister had white hair and blue eyes; she's still blonde at 31. I had gold hair and green eyes; started going darker in my late teens and especially early 20s. I'm now 38 and it's naturally sort of a cold ash brown; I dye it darker blonde.

I still have natural blonde highlights, but mine turned more dark blonde than lighter blonde around 35. My hair cutter would always comment on how no one keeps their blonde hair that long. I always ask if I should do highlights and he says that I don't need them. My hair was basically white until I was about 10.

My mom's blonde hair turned fully brown by 30.

35 was when I had my first child. I suspect that had something to do with it.
