| We're leaving our in-home daycare after two wonderful years, and I want to get our amazing, loving provider something to show our appreciation. Of course cash is fine, and I know teachers get way too much "stuff" from parents, but I'd like to giver her something other than a card and cash. Maybe a Christmas ornament or something she can display? Any suggestions? |
| Cash/gift card is best, but in addition to that, maybe a photo or two of your child? She may keep an album/shoebox with photos of kids she has cared for. Also, remember to keep in touch so she knows how your kid is doing! |
| I personally would consider the space where she cares for the children and think about perhaps getting something nice for the daycare. So maybe a nice toy that she doesn't have or something that would make her work easier. Perhaps something that will remind her of your child whenever it gets used by another child. |

How much are you wanting to spend? High end quality toys would probably be appreciated.
I have been coveting a Tegu magnetic block set for awhile now and a light box. Some of the hand made wooden toys on etsy are beautiful and useful too. These types of things get pushed to the back burner when you have to keep buying necessary supplies, but I think most providers would flip over this type of gift (at least this one would). Your family would be thought of every time it was used. |

Thanks all. Any suggestions for a toy or item?
If we go the gift card plus photo route, how much would you suggest for the gift card? |
| Magnatiles |
| If her daycare hosts babies and young toddlers, maybe a jump-a-roo or bouncer seat would be appreciated? |
If you can do it, one week's pay/tuition. If you can't, give what you can afford. |

My in home daycare provider took TONS of pictures of the kids. She certainly did not need me to give her one of those...
I'd say cash or a gift card. I generally do a Target gift card and a nice note of thanks. You can buy anything at Target. So if she needed toys, she could get those. If she wanted wine, she could get that. Etc. |
