| I'm not sure about that school but there is usually an open house a few days before when class assignments are posted. |

| Our school mails postcards a week before the first day. We usually receive them a day or two before the open house which is generally the Friday before school starts. . I know some schools just post a list at the open house. |

| We are a "post it on the door school" due to the fact that many parents start emailing and complaining about their child's classroom assignment; this bunch includes the MCPS parents who look to see what class their child is in and start speading the news prior to parently notifications! |
