Dr. Jim MacDonald, who I think is retired now, has a website and youtube videos on working with your child at home on language. There's so much parents can do in this regard! You can be your child's best teacher.

Thanks for the link! My 22 month old twins are speech delayed and I decided to watch the video regarding making sounds- I'm gonna make this my practice and see how it goes.

OP -- I thought of this reading the other thread because I have friends who went in person to see him about 14 years ago and their child is all caught up with his language. They said his methods really worked.

Thanks for this! I want to work more with my twins at home and am kind of overwhelmed by the options of where to start.

Kid probably would have caught up anyway. Most kids with a language disorder struggle in some areas but learn to compensate.
