| I have a renter car. I was caught at a speeding camera in oxygen Hill, how do I pay it? Will they send me the ticket once they received it or what? |
|
Oxon Hill, Maryland
sorry |
| It'll come in the mail. Pay online |
| The rental agency may pay it and then invoice you. |
SO I have to wait? |
what's the rush? |
| The ticket goes where the car is registered so the rental company will get and pay the ticket and then send you a bill for the ticket amount and a hefty administrative fee as well. |
|
administrative fees can be 200%-500% the cost of the ticket, FYI
So a $200 speed camera ticket could be up to $1,000 depending on who you rented from. |
| Those bitches! |
That's what you get |
| Hey you know what DC is screwed up. They sent me a ticket for 300.00 for a speed camera. Twice the amount that is due. I called them up and couldn't talk them down to 150.00. So I just went ahead and paid the 300.00. Do you know they sent me a check for 150.00 saying I paid too much. |
I didn't know these things were negotiable. |
Fortunately for OP, speed tickets in MD are only $40. |
|
How do you know that you got a ticket if you didn't receive it yet?
Even if you were way over the speed limit you have no idea if the camera got a clear shot of your car and if there were other cars in the photo they often can't use those because they can't be certain which car was speeding. |
In this case, I don't think it was negotiating. The original charge was an error and the government actually corrected it (shocking). Technically, the charge is negotiable if the person chooses to go to court and state their case. The judge does have the power to change the amount on the ticket, but the odds are not in the favor of the person with the ticket. |
