Potomac ES to Radnor

Looks like this is going to happen. As a PES parent, I am outraged that DD will have to be on a long bus ride. They should build a new temp school for us, and we can use that while PES is rebuilt. That is the best solution for the PES community, and we should not have to be forced to endure long bus times or any form of inconvenience. MCPS should know that many of us could just switch to any private school if we wanted.

Maybe have the butler drive DD to school.

Enjoy RATnor - that place is nasty. We spent over a year there.

Troll level... 2/10. Come on, OP, you can do better.

Love how everyone calls "troll" at the first side of trouble. This is legitimate issue for the people at Potomac, of which I am one. So stuff it, PP.

It's been a "legitimate issue" for the people of lots of other communities, year after year after year. I've never heard someone propose building their snowflakes a "temp school for us" instead of putting up with what everyone else has to put up with.

Wow, this is actually a thing. I am so embarrassed for you, Potomac ES people.

Get a grip. Every school that has gone through a reconstruction has had to deal with long commutes to Radnor. RCF did it for a year and a half with many kids having a 40 minute ride, we dealt, so can you.

Carderock Springs and Wayside did, too.

Some of the PES kids are projected to have 75 minute bus rides.

And it was never suggested that a temporary holding school be built--the board was asked to explore the option of building the new building on the back of the current lot while the kids remained in the current building.

Radnor is a dump and MCPS shouldn't be sending anyone there, not sure why some of you are so pissed off that the PES parents tried to avoid having their kids sent there. Everyone should oppose having any kids sent there, ever. You should all be pissed off at the school board who doesn't give two craps about doing better for anyone's kid.

Radnor is seriously only 20 minutes down the road on river road. Wood acres just finished their time there. Relax. It's going to be ok.

It is certainly an issue that some people in Potomac consider legitimate. But I don't think that the OP is a legitimate poster. I agree that the OP is a troll.

75-minute ride? That can't be right.

It's totally inconvenient. But what are the options?

There are articles in Bethesda magazine about this. Why is OP a troll? I am also a parent of DS at Potomac Elementary and lots of people are talking about this.
