ISO Family destination in PA somewhat equidistant with NYC

Anonymous
We are looking to go away with my family - who lives in NYC. We have a 2 year old. Someplace near amish country or fun things to do would be ideal. Pet-friendly would be a bonus. We are open to renting a house, but I don't know PA so don't know where to start. Any ideas welcome!

stayed here with our dog-nice and reasonably priced:

you could also go much closer to NYC:
Allentown -bethlehem -easton area
Dorney Park , crayola factory,
easy drive to a day in Amish country, New Hope PA, Princeton, Philadelphia
poconos [lots of nice places to stay in the mountains]
