Is it normal for the fatigue to go away

Anonymous
I've had 3 positive betas after IVF, and am now waiting for my appointment for an ultrasound to look for a hearbeat. I'd been experiencing waves of fatigue each day for the last 2 weeks. Today, for the first time, there's nothing. Not tired at all. Anyone else ever experience this? Does it mean something's gone wrong?

In my experience, all pregnancy symptoms (fatigue, cramps, nausea, etc) REALLY wax and wane during weeks 4-14 (approx). I remember calling my RE in a panic after my first succesful IVF cycle (at around 7 weeks) because my horrible cramps and nausea completely disappeared for a day or 2. I went in for a stat ultrasound and all was well.
This time around (second IVF cycle) I experienced the same thing during the first trimester---days that I felt like I was on death's door due to all the crummy pregnancy symptoms and days I felt completely like myself.
Now at 18 weeks it's all disappeared and I feel relatively decent every day.

Good luck but I wouldn't worry!

Thanks - that really puts me at ease. I was starting to panic. It's my first, and took several cycles...

I had that too - symptoms comming and going or some days being really bad and others almost none. I was also very worried about it but both experience pregnant women (BTDT) and my nurse, RE and OB said it is NORMAL to experience these waves of symptoms.

OP, this site is a little bit slow to answers etc, so I suggest you visit www.ovusoft.com when you have this kind of doubt (lots of mom, pregnant woman, ttcing , etc)

Hi -- I hope you can try not to worry too much, although that's always easier said than done . I also went through the same thing -- got pregnant on an IVF round after a few failures, had a few positive betas (with good numbers). I had had a miscarriage much earlier, and had been very nauseous and tired during that pregnancy, and then those symptoms suddenly stopped (which was soon after I miscarried -- but it was a missed miscarriage with no bleeding) . So, when I finally got pregnant via IVF and felt great after some initial fatigue, I was convinced that I had miscarried again. And unfortunately, this happened when my husband and I were on vacation -- which really had a negative impact on what was supposed to be a fun, relaxing time. It was all for naught, too -- the baby was fine. I really never had any symptoms other than being tired at times. My big lesson was to remember that lots in life is "out of our control" and to just hope for the best (and do what I can that's in my control, such as eat healthy, etc.).

Best of luck to you -- I hope everything works out and that you have a wonderful, healthy, fun pregnancy!
