Anyone use recommendation from DCUM in naming their child?

just wondering?

I don't know why the name posts annoy some people so much. I think it's a nice way to get a read on how a particular name goes over. It might also confirm the OP's suspicions about a name. Like I wanted to name my son Sami (family is Arab), but was worried this might be seen as too feminine. And sure enough, that's what most posters said (not here, but another board). I think boards like this are better than friends, honestly, who won't necessarily tell you that your name choices suck. Nobody holds back here.

No, sadly I didn't see the recommendation for the name Kindle until we'd already named our child...maybe it will still be edgy and fresh by the time we're ready for number two!

"Kindle" was my idea.

My dream is that I will one day meet a child from the DC region with that name, and I will feel a warm glow of satisfaction, perhaps tinged perhaps with a whiff of remorse.

We named our DD D'Cum. She's the only one in her whole daycare!

Great. And maybe she'll be in the same kindergarten class with my son Spark!
