Very early pregnancy - is this normal?

Anonymous
I am very early in my pregnancy (4 weeks) and I am EXHAUSTED and so crampy. I am also STARVING. I only thought to test because I was so hungry yesterday. I ate an entire half-salad from CPK and 4 slices of pizza. It was a ridiculous amount of food to be eating and I just wolfed it down and thought I would test. Can you REALLY be tired so early? And crampy too? Could this be a sign of a twin pregnancy or is this normal?

It is normal. Get some carrots around you. It can be brutal.

It is normal. I am 5 weeks and I've been napping or having a REALLY strong desire to nap for the past 1.5 weeks. I think it's all the hormones.

Its normal. I gained a lot my first trimester. I know its hard, but TRY to eat sensibly or else it'll bite you in the end. I've been on "track" since those first few weeks, but I'm about 12-15 lbs more than I would like to be at this point and its all in my thighs.

I'm about 7 weeks - I can't say I've been that hungry (I actually get pretty full after a few bites), but I have been exhausted. I close the door to my office and take 20 minute naps 1-3 times a day.

OP here. Thank you. I feel better. I was wondering if there were twins in triplets in here! I just want to put a heating pad on my belly and lay on the floor but of course I haven't told anyone at work and I'm not sure how often the carpet gets vacuumed! I appreciate the post about trying to eat sensibly. I am not a tiny person and don't want to be unnecessarily huge by the time I deliver because I stuffed my face with anything I could - so will try to pay attention to what I eat and to try to eat healthy. Hope you're all able to get some rest!

OP - you shold resist the urge to use the heating pad (as good as it might feel) - I believe the heat is not so great for baby. Hope you feel better soon!

OP here. Thank you PP. I will stay away from the heating pad. Thank you for looking out for me!

Totally normal. I was starving the two days before I found out I was pregnant till a week later, then I was nauseous around the clock for weeks. I'm 11 weeks now and just now starting to feel better. Oh, and exhaustion was one of the things that made me test. SO tired.

OP again. Thank you! I had morning sickness last night. It was so strange. I felt close to throwing up and it was night. This morning I was ok and ate a big breakfast. Go figure. I'm sorry to hear that you were nauseous for so many weeks PP. I hear it is a sign of a healthy pregnancy though! Take care!

when I was 5.5 weeks I was out of town at my mom's house. I told her about the pregnancy while I was there. If I didn't tell her it would have been hard to hide the 8:00 bedtimes and sleeping until 10:00 am. It also would have been hard to hide the enormous amount of food I was eating.
It did all subside. Now, at 24 weeks, I still have no increased appetite and i can stay up until 11:00.
