How are AP "bumps" figured into GPA?

Anonymous
I'm looking at my son's report card and don't see how the AP/Honors GPA bump is applied. Is there anywhere we can go to see exactly what each class grade works out to? Sorry if I'm not asking this in the right way - the whole process is so confusing to me. TIA.

In FCPS, .5 is added for Honors and 1.0 is added for AP and post AP classes for HS classes (even ones taken in MS). They never show the non-weighted GPA, only the weighted GPA.

Okay, the link makes it more confusing sorry.

Grade/Unweighted/Weighted Honors/Weighted AP

A 4.0 4.5 5.0
A- 3.7 4.2 4.7
B+ 3.3 3.8 4.3
B 3.0 3.5 4.0
B- 2.7 3.4 3.7...........

I'm pretty sure in Arlington, it's +1 for an AP, but no bump for an honors/intensified course.

Just so you know, plenty of colleges insist on and recalculate GPAs to be unweighted.

Ditto for Falls Church City. Only IB, DE and AP courses weighted +1, not honors.

Which is perfectly fine

yes, they do, but that's after they've tossed aside the applications without AP/IB level coursework. The weighted GPA points to the rigorous coursework.
