I look at photos of her now and she is so radiant, poised and beautiful.
If you look at her objectively I doubt she'd be considered a natural beauty according to western beauty standards. She was too tall and athletic looking, long prominent nose, large pores, short frumpy hair. But there is just something ethereal and attractive about her. She is just so naturally...majestic.

Meh.
Dying young helps with the worship. |
| She was one of those women who got better with age. She was nothing special in her 20s but by her 30s she really grew into herself and had great style and empathetic grace. She got better with age. |
|
Speaking as someone who was slightly younger than her, there was a great transformation during the period of her engagement from a relatively plain young girl to a very alluring glamorous woman. She also lost a great deal of weight during her engagement and the early part of her marriage. It was very interesting to see how her looks changed. I loved to see pictures of her beautiful clothes.
Prior to her joining the royal family, they were very non-descript and didn't appear in the press. |
I can't believe this shy awkward looking young girl grew to be the most famous and beautiful woman in the world.

She looks so much like William in this pic! She would have loved her grandchildren so much. Wonder what she would have thought of Kate? |
| Damsel in distress. |
| I think about Princess Di every day and cry. |
Good question. It's possible being an mil wouldn't have been easy for her. |
| I don't get it? She wasn't that attractive and her hair was ugly. |
Part of that was the style back in the 80s. That short hair look was quite common. I think the public became fascinated with Di bc she was relatable (just as Kate, William, and Harry are) which is totally opposite of the centuries of royals before her. Plus, she used her star power and money to serve others via charity. Humbling indeed. Again, totally debunking the stuffiness and prim-n-properness of the Crown. |
She also lifted the lid on the royals and showed us a lot of their dirty laundry. Which was of course fascinating. |
You need help. |
Huh? |
|
She was definitely beautiful by British standards. Horsey but strong with great skin and hair.
You do realize she has been dead for 20 years now, right? |
