| We're flying up to visit my family for a week. We're not renting a car and will be shuttling around with different folks. Can anyone recommend a good car seat for a decent-sized 8 month old? We'd ideally like to get one that won't kill our backs in the airport, is light, and easy to install and take out. I know, a tall order. Thanks- |

Is he in a infant seat with a base, because those often can be used with a seatbelt without the base. Can be a little awkward, but the familiarity can help and the price can't be beat.
Once our child got a little bigger I just went to buy buy baby and picked out the car seat that seemed lightest/easiest to carry (and was a reasonable price). |
| Cosco Scenra. Rates highly in safety, VERY lightweight, and easy to install (especially with the seatbelt.) PLus it'll last you till your child is 3 or so. |
