Yogurt at security at BWI

Anonymous
Any recent experience with bringing yogurt through security lines (Southwest gates) at BWI? We have an early morning flight and it's a great portable breakfast food for the kids but I've had TSA agents throw it out (or make me open it in their presence) at other airports, about 50% of the time that I've tried it...

Why don't you either have them eat it before security, or purchase it after?

Let's say it takes you 1 minute to sort this out and there's 30 people behind you in line. That's 30 minutes wasted because you couldn't follow the rules.

Purchase it after security. If you have it confiscated 50% of the time it will be more cost effective to purchase it in the airport. Plus it will be refrigerated.

They asked for the remaining yogurts in the house for breakfast today, so problem solved-- I'll bring something else to the airport. Thanks, everyone.

Well, it's the same minute for each of them. She doesn't have to do it each time for each person in the line.

Also, complying with this security theater has already wasted at least 15 minutes of OP's time.

In her defense - I usually freeze yogurt tubes overnight and take them thru security Frozen and have never had an issue . Kids usually eat them on plane once they are defrosted

No. That's 1 minute for 30 people not 30 minutes wasted.

It is funny, but that's only because TSA is so absurd. I've actually had them confiscate applesauce on one trip, and clear it on another. They also tossed my brand new leg wax, claiming it was a liquid, even though it was a sealed solid (had to be microwaved to become a liquid). All questions are valid when it comes to TSA.

My contact lens solutions, which cleared security at DCA last week, were confiscated at Boston on my return trip a couple of days ago. The randomness is absurd. It was < 3 ounces in the original bottle. Original bottle being used because of sterility. The agent said "How do I know what is in here is safe?" Yet it got tossed in a trash bin with a lot of other "unsafe" things.
