A huge silver maple branch fell into our backyard during yesterday's storm. Any idea if it can be used for firewood or furniture. If so, how would we go about finding someone to cut it up and haul it away for this purpose? |
Silver maple is a very soft hardwood and not very valuable. You can burn it, but I doubt you'll find someone who will deal with this branch and haul it away for free. |
Not many BTU's (heat unit measurement) in maple wood. It burns fast and without all that much heat compared to other hardwoods like oak.
On the other hand, it won't hurt anyting to burn it, either |
maple is one of the best woods for firewood and has a very high BTU! |
