The kids cut some flowers to add to breakfast in bed for Father's day. So dh ended up with pancakes with a side of aphids. Uggghhhh....
I know they're hard to get rid of, but in general, can I wash off flowers or somethung to be able to use cuttings? I have some very dense window pots that I like to cut from to use on the table to brighten things up. |
Op again... would diatomaceous earth work?
Diatomaceous earth is more for pests like slugs. I would spray insecticidal soap. If these are not edible plants and not exposed to bees you could use a systemic insecticide.
I use the hose to spray them off, on a fairly high pressure setting. I sort of support the plant with my hand from the other side so the water doesn't flatten it, if that makes sense. It is a temporary solution but one that doesn't involve chemicals.
I use Neem Oil. I hate Aphids. It's a constant battle. Buy some ladybugs as well.
