Looking for immediate opening somewhere between N. Arlington and Mount Vernon area

Hi. I just got hired for a job in Alexandria and have to move to the area in the next 2 weeks. Yikes!! I need to find a good day care for my daughter (21 months) to start September 1.

I'd like to find something between my work and my sister, who lives in N. Arlington, and who will be my back up day care.

I've been looking on Craigslist, but I don't really know the area well, and I don't know anyone there who uses day care.

Any recommendations?

Are you looking for full time or part time....we are looking for someone to share 2-3 days a week for a day care center as our son spends a couple days at home with grandma and soon to be little sister.

You can find licensed, regulated, care providers in the Kingstowne/Franconia section of Alexandria through the Childcare Network of Kingstown Franconia http://www.ccnkf.com/about.html under Parent/Provider Connection. Members of CCNKF are also members of the Virginia Alliance of Family Child Care Associations. There is no fee. Good luck.

Here's a website you can use to find providers in your area and look up any violations that turned up in inspections.

i'd suggest typing in all the zip codes that are convenient and making a list or spreadsheet of all the possibilities, then just start calling the ones that have no major violations. (I say "major" because every provider I've researched has gotten nicked for some minor paperwork violation, like a missing form, and had to correct it.)
