Infertility Support and Discussion
| This Saturday will be 14 DPO. I want so badly to test early. I read about women with positive tests at 9 DPO, 10 DPO, 11 DPO (you get the point). Why do I want to run out to CVS right now and buy a 3 pack of FRER and test tomorrow morning? I should be happy until AF arrives but each day that I get closer to 14 DPO I want to be one of the women that says "I tested early and look - it's positive". But then when it's negative I feel so down. But then the mental anguish shows up - "maybe I tested too early". "I didn't use FMU so there wasn't enough HCG". "I POAS instead of PIAC (or vice versa)". On that note - do most folks POAS or PIAC? Well - baby dust to all. Thanks for letting me vent. |
| We were told that hpts would be likely to show a positive due to the meds. We did not want to risk getting a positive from a hpt and then a negative from the Beta. That would be devastating. |

Hi OP,
Your post made me smile. "Should I POAS or PIAC?" I knew what POAS was, but now I know PIAC! I just asked my husband if I should POAS or PIAC, and he said I should PIAT! Very cute. I am waiting now too, 8DPO, and the posts are making me smile, which helps a lot! By the way, what is FMU? I just got CVS, even cuter

OP here. FMU is "first morning urine".
PP - what is PIAT (is it Pee In A Toilet)? That was funny. Yes, DH is Dear Husband. I did read that PIAC can be helpful so that if you want to try more than one brand - you can try a few of them b/c you haven't lost your FMU

Very interesting! Pee in a toilet is it! Tomorrow I will test, so I will PIAC so I can get the most out of my FMU!
Let me know how you are doing! |
OP here. PP - good luck this morning with PIAC and FMU Keep me posted. I have my fingers crossed!

Hi there OP
I PIAC'ed and tested with my FMU with 1st Response, but nothing! Today is 10 DPO if I calculated right, so I am not giving up yet. I hope this is not TMI, but for the last 2 months I spotted for 5 days before AF, which is not normal, usually it's 2 days before. This month is the 1st one that I actually knew when I ovulated (normally I can't be focussed enough to track it, which means I am probably not trying hard enough) , I got a + OPK test. At 6 DPO I raced in a mountain bike race that was very difficult, and I didn't train for it, so even more draining (but fun). I felt some very light cramping on the way home and I paid attention, but I tried to blame it on the race. The next morning, 7DPO, I had spotting all day. I haven't had any spotting since. AF is due next Tuesday. So! Was that implantation bleeding and cramping like I very quickly convinced myself? Or was it due to the heavy exercise, and the normal spotting I would get is not coming also because of that exercise?! So confused! Only time will tell.
How are you doing? Have you given in and tested like me, or are you holding out? |
| Hi PP. I actually tested and have a positive. I'm in shock. Today is 12 DPO according to my calculations. Don't give up yet. 10 DPO is still quite early and HCG doubles every 48 hours so if you can wait two more days and try Saturday morning it might do the trick. I'm anxious though b/c I really hope this bean stick! I will think good thoughts for you. I was really hoping you had a positive too. Fingers still crossed for you. |

Congrats!!
Just FYI I began testing on 8DPIUI (or DPO) and the earliest I got a positive result was at 11 DPO. I like to know before hand and brace myself for the blood test (in case it was negative), so I could discuss with my husband what we would do - sit a cycle out, do another IUI or move on to IVF. |

Congratulations!!!!
It's the mountain biker here. That is wonderful!!!!!! Fabulous!! ))
Stick little bean, stick! I will keep POAS until AF comes or doesn't, and I'll let you know what happens. Have a great day! |
