DCPCSB Staff is recommending approval with conditions.
The Board has not gone with their recommendations a couple times this year. Should be interesting to watch this one. |
| What are the conditions? Can't figure out from the link. |
One is that they get their accreditation-- supposed to have had it by year 5 of operation. |
WTH?! They don't even have accreditation?? |
No. It typically takes 2-3 years, depending on what accreditation organization you work with. But MV hasn't completed the process. |
I got the impression that MV was just starting the process this year. |
| ITS got accreditation and they opened at the same time. Wonder what's stopping MV? |
|
Awful! If you read the link- there were only 9 in favor, yet 255 community members not in favor of the expansion.
|
They say that they were waiting on the national Expeditionary Learning org to begin offering accreditation services, but they (EL) haven't done it yet. Since PCSB has brought it up as an issue, MV has begun the process with Middle States to seek accreditation through them. |
| You can watch the meeting online tonight. Here's the live stream link. |

Sorry MV families. Your voice was not heard or respected in the hearing, nor evidently in the decision making by the Board members.
Unfathomable that not one of the DCPSCB was willing to stand with the 255 families- and neighborhood association- in this decision. |
Not getting what you want does not mean you weren't heard or respected. They just didn't agree with you. Go elsewhere if Mundo is so awful. You can have my spot at Noyes. |
|
FYI- Not a MV family, but a community member active in the schools- and with immersion programs. Move if you don't like Noyes.
Fact stands- the overwhelming negative embrace by key constituents was ignored.
