How is this a scandal? There doesn't seem to be a cover-up. The case was turned over to the local police (instead of internal university kangaroo court), who are experienced in investigating such crimes. Evidence was collected; suspect is on bail; and a trial is forthcoming.
Seems to me like the system is working as it should. |

I am guessing its a "scandal" for the family of the young man, and for UVA.
Its quite something else for the girl. |
