I am 39 and expecting my first. They make a big deal about 35+ and yes, the risks do go up. But still the odds are very much in favor of you having a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.

The only thing I would worry about with your situation is the lack of health insurance. Prenatal care and childbirth is very expensive! Thousands of dollars if everything goes perfectly, and could be tens of thousands if you need a csection or have complications. If I were in your position, I would get health insurance before doing anything else.

I am looking at this screen in disbelief? You don't have insurance and you are thinking about having another child? The fact that you are over 35 means nothing to me because people have kids at all ages unless you are wondering about a higher incidence of csection and the added expence--that would be correct. Back to my earlier thought- If you would like to be a responsible person then first you get some insurance and then you plan for a baby. I have had insurance since I got out of college and sometimes paid for by myself so I am tired of iresponsible excuses. If your finances are so dire that paying for insurance breaks you, then you shouldn't be adding to your family. What if your child has to spend time in NICU-that can run hundreds of thousands of dollars and then when you have to file for bankruptsy you will probably show up on MSNBC and say how unfair it all is. I am wondering now if you are a troll because I would hope no one would be so stupid to do this.
