Did your teen/college student have trouble finding a job this summer?

Seems like the unemployment rate is at a 16 year low, so it should be easy to find a job? no?

College student - no problem getting a job. DC wanted to go back to last year's fun summer job but got a good internship instead.

In our summer town there were still tons of summer help wanted signs up over memorial day. These are places that rely on HS and college students over the summer.

Nope. Both my 13 yr old and going-into-grad-schooler (?) had no problem getting summer jobs.

Yes. My 17 year old still needs work, has only one part time (5 hour a week) job. Where should he look? Fast food?

Nope. DD #2 is a rising college junior and is working as an office assistant at her college (JMU). DD #2 is working as a lifeguard at a local pool - she'll be a HS senior in the fall.

have your kid take the lifeguard course. Pools are always hiring this time of year.

What summer job does your 13-year-old have?
