We recently moved to home that's zoned to Forestville ES. Our daughter is in AAP program and Forest Edge ES is the center AAP school. We are debating if we should send her to Forest Edge for AAP or have her go to Forestville which has a higher rating. Even though base school is Forestville, our home (in 20170 zip code) is closer to Forest Edge. |
Entering 3rd grade? |

Stay at Forestville! My kid's teacher at Forest Edge AAP Center was not that good, although the administration and office staff there I liked. But it's the specific teacher, that your child gets, who has the most influence on your kid's everyday life. In our case, the experience was not great. Perhaps, you could be more lucky. |
Forestville has a very large AAP group anyway - multiple classes. It's not a typical level 4 school. |
She will be entering 4th grade in Sept. |
Oh they have multiple AAP classes? That's very interesting, looks like most folks don't opt to go to Forest Edge and stay back at Forestville. |
probably... influenced by school rating |
I think people buying homes in the Langley pyramid are paying a lot to have that pyramid and probably not as likely to send DC outside of it . . . |
Please don't send your child to Forest Edge. The administration especially the principal runs it like a dictatorship. This year alone 31 of the 53 staff is leaving, had left or put on administrative leave. The best teachers are gone especially the 4th grade AAP teacher was a major reason why a lot of parents sent their kids here. So many families are leaving including us. |
She is leaving? |
Bumping this up... how are Forestville and Forest Edge now? |
Shocked anyone assigned to forestville would even consider going to forest edge for aap. Stay at the home school. |
