wall-wall carpet repair/alignment

Anonymous
Our wall-to-wall carpet has developed a bulge running the length of the room and needs to be pulled straight to the wall. It's likely the result of poor installation. Can anyone recommend a company that can repair this without charging an arm and a leg? We're in Arlington.

I was just told by a guy who does carpet installation for a living (and who's retiring now) that it's now most often caused by the materials. He said upgrading to real wool helps. The nylon-y stuff stretches far too easily. And padding contributes a lot to bulges, yet even the most expensive padding under the carpets can bunch up.

I know that doesn't help. I just was surprised by what this guy was telling me this weekend.

Fixing carpets like that used to be a cheap repair, though.
