Time slot for 3-year-old birthday party?

Anonymous
A lot of his friends are closer to the 3.5-4 year age group, he is the younger one of the bunch.

Our choices are 11:30, 1:30 and 3:00, and we have the option of Saturday or Sunday.

I'm thinking Saturday at 11:30, just don't want to interfere with any who still nap.

I have an almost 3 year old and she still naps for 2 hours on the weekends. Usually 1-3. So none of those times would work well for us.

If you are close by to us, we'd do the 11:30 and just leave by 1 and put her down a little late. But it's not ideal. I'm going to do a 10am party this year for her.

OP here, and I was hoping for a 10 am slot, but it's not available (and the party is still 3 months out).

What type of bday activity are you planning OP? A 3:00 party could help parents fill that post-nap, but too early for dinner time slot that makes the day drag.

I really like morning activities or afternoon ones that don't eat up the middle of the day, but I'll try to work our schedule around whatever the host plans.

I would do 11:30. If most of the attendees are older, they should be able to fudge a little on nap timing. (For example, my 3.5 year old still usually takes a nap, and we try for 1-3, but if she misses it, we just put her to bed super early.) Maybe plan to do lunch right at noon and cake at like 12:30, so all the kids are there for the singing. (Seems to be the favorite part for this age set.) I would say not 1:30 pm, because nappers or their younger siblings will for sure be asleep.

OP here, the party will be at a soft play gym that is within a 5-minute drive of the majority (or all?) of the kids who will be attending.

This is the OP again, usually our son still naps, but when he misses nap we put him to bed at 7:00 and that is awesome.

Definitely 11:30.

3 is too early for post nap. Most kids would just be getting up at 3.

Yeah, 1 - 3 is nap time for most kids that age.

11:30 - 1:30 is peak nap time and 3:00 would be tough for the same reason - kids are just getting up, and it would take some time for folks to get out the door. Any way you could do something at 5:00?

11:30. Most people would just put their kids down after the party if they are still napping. A 2-3 nap or 2-4 nap should be fine for most 3-4 year olds. You can't please everyone (as you can see on the thread).
