Rest in Peace Gregg Allman

A true original that defined my college years and still easily holds up to this day. He created a genere of rock and roll.

This one hurts.

This is very sad. Had he been ill?

Yes to all of the above. I have very fond memories of Allman Bros outdoor summer concerts in the 90s, hearing all those great songs from the 70s.

Quite. Hepatitis, liver transplant and cancer, heart issues. Honestly I'm surprised he made it as long as did, but holy shit, what a musician.

I've been sad about this too. I heard that his cancer returned 5 years ago, and he chose to keep it private. Ultimately, he died from complications of liver cancer, but he had a liver transplant in 2010 and has had Hep C for a long time.

I have lots of great memories attached to lots of his songs. That man understood the blues!

Whipping Post is one of the best songs ever written. Amazing.

I'm from Macon, where Allman Brothers are still legendary. Everyone goes to H&H and passes the spots where Duane and Berry died and visits their graves at Rose Hill. So Gregg's death is hitting pretty hard.
