| Ok, I know this sounds a little crazy but I am losing weight in the 2nd trimester. I had horrible all day morning sickness until week 20 (and still get sick maybe once per week), but still gained a few pounds. In the last month, however, I have started to lose weight. It is especially noticeable in my face, thighs, arms and legs. While I dont have any cravings and actually not so crazy about food, I am getting at least 2000 calories a day. Has this happened to anyone else? It seems like the rounder my stomach gets the skinner the rest of me gets.... |
| Were you underweight to start with? If so, might be cause for concern. |

I would mention it to your OB or midwife. Could be pregnancy induced hyperthyroidism.

| Talk to your OB. Even if your arms/legs are skinnier, perhaps you are still gaining weight? It's just redistributing. Maybe you do need to consume more calories than 2000....are you still hungry after consuming that many? Focus on adding more fats as they are calorie dense. Avocado, salmon, nuts, seeds, almond butter, sunflower seed butter, olives, olive oil. |
OP here--- I am 24 weeks. I am definitely losing, about 10 lbs in the last 3 weeks. I appreciate the suggestion on consuming more calories. I have an appointment with my OB-Gyn on Wed, so I will definitely ask if I should be concerned. |
