I love these. Can you wear these with a casual sundress? Is it a "summer" shoe? |
| If you like them, do it! I think for many people open toe means summer. These look simple so that they could go with a lot of things. |
| Yes absolutely |
| I think they're too dark and clunky for a strappy sundress. A sleeveless dress, yes. |
| Ew, no. So ugly. |
|
I sort of feel like you need to choose: boot or sandal.
There hybrid shoes make no sense to me. Much like sneaker with heels. |
|
Please don't. I have posted on the whole bootie thing before.
They are not made for every woman. If you are really skinny they look goofy and clunky. If you have bigger calves they look like you had a cobbler make half a boot so you could squeeze your foot in and then he never came back to finish it. If you are short and wear them with a knee length or longer skirt/drsss they chop your body and make you look short and frumpy. If you wear them clunky ones with skinny jeans they make your feet look huge. If you wear slim pointed toe with wide leg jeans they make your legs look huge. |
| Dislike these so much. |
| I think they're too clunky to wear with a summer dress. |
| I had a similar style until I saw a picture of myself in them and my foot has never looked larger. I don't have large feet, this isn't something I'm self conscious about, just something about wearing too much shoe in a summer setting drew the eye. Also the long expanse of uninterrupted leather is elongating and there's nothing dainty about the sawed off toebox. YMMV, but even though I bought and liked the style initially, I haven't worn them much. If you do wear them in summer, play up the boot aspect, don't pretend they're a sandal and play them against something ultra feminine. Strappy black sundress could be great, floral and ruffly might be hard to pulloff |
+1! And i'm not into the whole booties thing anyway. |
| No, especially with a strappy sundress? You'd be very...bottom-heavy. |
| I think it's the dark color that bothers me more than the shape of the shoe. Agree with PP - if you want booties, go for one in a lighter color with either a strappier design, or in the perforated leather. |
| I think they'd be great with slacks and a summery top, maybe with a dress with a little bit of a sleeve, but not with a strappy sundress. |
