Team manager end of the season gifts

Besides a card and a gift card anyone have any ideas or given a gift to their team manager that was a hit?

I'm a team manager, and I have to say that the gift card and expressions of thanks (card and verbal thanks) that my team gave me were most appreciated. I already have tons of photos of the team just from being a parent, and really don't want flowers, candy, a plaque, a signed soccer ball, etc. Kinda wish the coaches would say thanks once in a while...many coaches in our soccer club take the parent volunteers for granted. Maybe it's different in other sports/clubs.

Similar question: do you do coach gifts for travel teams or clubs? What if there are multiple coaches?

No for travel, it is paid position. as a team manger, i would rather have the parents respond to emails than get a gift card. it certainly makes things easier when they respond.

OP here, yes for my younger son we have done gifts for our travel team coach. If we had two coaches we would just split the money collected and get them both a card/gift card. Now, my older son's team has not done this in quite a while.

Well, that's part of the reason we are giving the manager a gift. As a thank you for doing a PITA job that involves unresponsive parents, parents that don't sign up for orange duty or whatever else the team needs. I'm sure in a perfect world all parents would respond and volunteer when called upon but when you take a job as a youth team manager you should understand that is not what you are signing up for.

We've always done coach gifts for travel, even though they are paid.

Ive been a manager for many teams over many years. Some years I received gifts, other years I did not. It depended on the team. I appreciate any and all gifts, but truly, a signed thank you card would mean a lot to me - as much as a gift card. Just having people recognizing the amount of work that goes into it is so nice. That being said, I've been a manager for some amazing parents who have really gotten to know me and my tastes and the have hit it out of the park (to use a sports analogy) when it comes to gift cards over the years.

For my son's soccer team (MSI classic) we got the manager a $500 spa gift card and a night for her and her husband and the Four Seasons. A few parents were unhappy at the amount but the manager worked hard.

Holy crap! I'm a team manager and I think that's totally over the top ridiculous.

I would contributed minimally as a protest. That is not appropriate and were I the recipient, I would have felt very bad. Perhaps I would have refused the gift.
Or maybe you're trolling, PP?

As a manager for the first time, the parents on my kids have been great and express frequent appreciation.

Truthfully, I wouldn't expect or want anything. I'd rather all $ go to our coach who kid and parents adore.

TM here and that is NUTS! I got like $100 in cash last year and my mind was BLOWN. Was too generous and I felt embarrassed!
