New Names for Bethesda Soccer Club teams

Anonymous
For reasons that completely elude me, BSC has changed the naming conventions for their younger teams.
Their teams, in skill order, used to be Blue, Green, White, Black, Red.
Now, they're adding two "Academy" teams to each age group. These are in name only...obviously, real academy teams don't start until U-12.
So the skill order in U9 through U11 is now:
Academy 1
Academy 2
Blue
Green
White
Black
Orange (for age groups that need a sixth team)
Not exactly sure of the order for the bottom 3, but I think it's close.

Not sure if they're changing the older groups at all...anyone?

Is this both boys and girls?

Bragging rights for parents and marketing. Ick.

Not sure what bragging rights you have under the new system that you didn't under the old. At every club with multiple teams the kids are going to know who's on the top team, no matter what it's called. This is likely an effort to give people a sense of whether their kid is in potentially in contention for a DA team when they get closer to the U12 age group.

Girls parent at BSC, and we never have 6 teams so that must be boys. Plus, BSC passed on the girls DA.

They just split out the DA teams. Other clubs call it DA but maintain a large roster the field 2 teams at game time.

This isn't DA--there are no DA teams before U12.

Those are not the names these are

1. My parents bitched enough they got me on the top team so I can ride the bench and watch some decent players.
2. We donated to the "fund" so our daughter could play
3. We really suck but hey we can say we play for Bethesda
4. We are roster fillers and can't beat an MSI rec team
5. We play for the swag

Nope, that's entirely inaccurate. No DA teams before U12.

You for got one: 2) My son/daughter should have made Team 1, so I'm gonna take my anger over to a message board to vent and troll.

My kid is a U13 next year. Only 1-2 kids that were on the A team at U9 that are still on the DA or the subsequent A team (and they are still with the club). In fact, there are several kids from the lower 3 teams that have been moved up there now.

Sounds about right. Wait and see how many play at a major college.
