I'm a grandmother and it has been so many years I cannot remember! My grandson is 3. Just in general, is that too young? I do not have a particular movie in mind at the moment.
4-5, when they can sit through the entire movie without getting up or talking.
I didn't take them until they were 7. But we're a very low screen household - they didn't even watch tv until 6.
One of mine at 3 - the other at 2.5. Both girls and both handled it fine. Took my nephew at 3.5 and he was fine too - I think it's kid to kid though - can he sit still and watch etc
I've taken mine at 2.5 and 3. It depends on the child. If they wouldn't sit for a whole movie or tv show at home I wouldn't take them. My 3 year old behaves great and loves going to the movie theater.
Mine at almost 3
Mine was almost 3 and able to sit through - but depends on movie and child obviously!
Took my oldest when he was 3 and he sat through it the movie just fine. Had he not went well we would have waited longer before trying again.
It really does depend on the child. I took my child at 5 and he found it very overwhelming. Movies are really loud, and he found the big screen to be a lot. I think we left before the end.
Not to hijack, but anyone whose kids don't watch at home first want to weigh in at all? I appreciated the PP with the low-screen HH, but even she had kids that watched TV/videos first. Hmmmm... Just not sure when my no-TV 4 yo kid would be ready.
Just because I can't gauge based on how still she'll sit for a movie at home, etc. |
