Why is my toddler's poop so gritty?

Anonymous
9 times out of 10, my 2yo has grainy, gritty poop that really just smears all over the place and is rough on his skin and not easy to wipe off. Other than this and his food allergies, he's perfectly healthy and at the top of his growth curve. But this seems off and I'm not sure if I should be concerned or not.

I don't love his pediatrician, and am in the market for a new one, but I don't if this is something to bring him in for or not?

Thoughts?

Does he eat a lot of blueberries or raspberries?

Graham crackers?

OP here... Yes, actually, he has frozen blueberries nearly everyday and also graham crackers.

Would that really be it?

My first thought before even reading the post was blueberries. Those tiny seeds are no joke.

My toddler eats a lot of blueberries and her poop is the same.

Could also be that he's eating sand in the sandbox.

It's totally from the blueberries. Raspberries do this, too.

OP again

Huh, who knew... Thanks! I'm glad I asked!

Yes, blueberries & sand.
