| I know that there is information scattered throughout many different topics, but it is hard to track them all down. I would greatly appreciate information on who/where to go in order to have a neuropsych evaluation conducted. Also, any additional advice that you would recommend (cost, preparation, etc.). Thank you!!!! |

Beth Corliss, Mindwell Psychology
For a re-evaluation of a teen with ADHD, anxiety and a SLD. Cost $3800 (insurance reimbursed ~$350). That covered an intake meeting with teen and parents (about 90 minutes); 2 days of testing; 2 hour post-evaluation briefing with teen, parents (separately and together); preparation of a full report and slightly truncated report for school and College Board. Parents, student and 2 teachers completed several questionnaires ahead of time in addition to interviewing parents, student and administering multiple tests to student. Thorough, developed good rapport with DC. Strongly recommend. |

Mindwell in Chantilly - Dr. Siddique - Good experience overall though it took a while to get the report. The report was VERY thorough and in depth. Evaluation was for ADHD & Dyslexia and cost about $3000 with $500 reimbursed by insurance.
Dominion Center for Behavioral Health Services - We did some testing with them but had numerous problems with the quality of the testing, the thoroughness of the testing, and errors in the report. They are in-network for BCBS but I wouldn't recommend them for testing. |
| Susan Hammond at Stixrud is very good. If you suspect.an ASD go to David Black who.is in his.practice. |
| * David black is in his.own practice. |
| TTLC in Gaithersburg; Susan Townes. |
| I paid about 4,000 for a general neurospych and another 2700 for ASD evaluation using ADOS test. |
| Around $4000 for Dr. Black. Included 2 hour intake session with parents, about 8 hours of testing (spread over two days), a two hour debrief session with parents, and writing a report. Excellent for social cognition stuff. |
|
Dr Black but ours cost $4400 for DS with ASD/ADHD/LD
We already had ADOS testing at Children's for ASD and Dr Black did not think another ADOS was necessary since DS clearly has ASD. |
| Kennedy Krieger. Get on wait list and keep calling to see if are cancellations. |
| Dr Black's office. Dr Inge from his practice completed it. Cost was about $4k |

Dr. Varia with MindWell;
1.5 hour intake with parents 6 hours of testing spread over 3 days for 7 yr-old Talked to everyone under the sun (tutors, teachers, past academic therapists) 2 hour feedback 2 weeks later with 45 page report. Most comprehensive report with "action plan" and recommendations and referrals for sensory OT, dyslexia academic therapy, anxiety therapy, and psychiatrist. School said it was most thorough report they had ever seen. Highly recommend. This was after dismal experienxce at Sterling behavioral health which was covered by insurance. MindWell wasn't covered and cost $3600- reimbursed $800. |
| Another Dr. Black fan. Can't rave about him enough. We also like Kimberly Glass with Stixrud. |
| Children's National ( Shady Grove Road). About $3000 out of pocket. They seemed overly focused on meds. DS's teacher and I filled out ratings forms on his performance (behavior, academic, and social). I spoke with the dr for about an hour while my son was being tested. His testing was about 6 hours long with breaks and an hour lunch. I had a follow-up appt. with the doc about 2 weeks later where we discussed the results and treatment options. |
Why wasn't it covered by insurance? I though that Children's was typically in network. |
