The outgoing AU president mentioned it at the start of his remarks at graduation over the weekend - he claims the university is working with the FBI to try to find the person/people responsible.

to make a 'hate crime' stick, doesn't there have to be some underlying crime? Speech, however offensive, is not enough. The only crime I can see so far is vandalism to the banana.

Actually, I don't think the banana was vandalized at all.

It had writing on it, but that was on the peel. So the banana itself was still completely edible.

Heard today that American has agreed to make the new lounge a "non white" area only, did only the "non white" students pay for this? I would get my white kid out of this racist hell whole immediately. Racism can go both ways and the is ridiculous.

Citation? That would violate Federal law as they take Federal money. It would probably also violate DC's Human Rights Act regardless of Federal funds.
