Arlington County & School Bd Caucus

Who are you voting for? For school board I'm voting McMahon 1 and O'Grady 2, but I'm still undecided about the county. Leaning toward Fallon b/c he has kids in APS, and addressing overcrowding is my priority.

FALLON for board- only one who will go on record we need a 4th comprehensive high school

McMahon-1
O'Grady-2

I'm still deciding between Fallon and Gutshal. They both have young kids, so I think they'd both be advocates for APS and get us the land we need for adequate facilities. Not sure who I'll rank in 1st and 2nd yet.

Definitely voting McMahon and O'Grady for School Board, though. Lander needs a term limit.

Gutshall's interest is using land for more affordable housing, not schools.

I'm voting for Lander. I was pretty unimpressed at the McMahon and O'Grady answers to various questionaires- it suggested that they had not really grappled with the issues facing Arlington.
In terms of board- I'm torn between Gutshal and Klinger

Is there any legal entanglement to voting in the Democrat caucus? Supposedly you sign a pledge to support the Democrat candidates. But does that really matter?

I'm for McMahon because she will use schools as a knife to take down so-called "affordable" housing.

People I like are with Klinger. She seems like a lightweight but that means she'll go along with Libby and thus John.

I voted yesterday: #1 Fallon, #2 Patil, #3 Klingler, #4 Gutshall; #1 McMahon, #2 O'Grady, #3 Lander.

I personally was torn over the SB because I, like a PP, wasn't very impressed with the non-incumbents. I've also met Lander and liked him just fine, thought he gave thoughtful responses to my questions. I finally came down on the side of basically protest voting the status quo.

My understanding about Gutshall is as above, that he would be in favor of more AH. That is an important issue to me, so I put him last. I agree that Fallon seems like the best candidate for school issues.

There's a five-page thread going in the VA Public Schools forum, if anyone is interested in reading other ppl's thoughts.

This post sounds like a troll.
Maura values the diversity of the classrooms in which her children are educated. They have attended one of the worst performing, highest FARM's school in South Arlington. She lives her values. Hardly anti AH. She wants common sense brought into the equation. Certainly we can see the damage that is being done, adding tons of density, and concentrating poverty, without putting infrastructure in place.
School board has nothing to do with the planning of affordable housing.

You again.

So transparent.

If you want more of your tax dollars to go to the affordable housing developer's pockets, Gutshall is your man.
