Has anyone used Sunshine Academy for summer camp? Any reviews?

We used them last summer. We found them to be great. Good teachers and academic focus. Older kids though (MS and late ES). |

| Older kids going there are generally very smart and competitive and tends to thrive in an environment like that. Don't send you kids there if they aren't among those who enjoy harder math several grades above thrown at them. Many of these kids revel at the opportunity to compete among themselves to see who can score higher. And, yes, agree with PP they have no time for dumbassess. |

I'm the pp from [Post New]05/08/2017 09:11 Like others have said, it's run by chinese, most of the students are chinese. They do teach a high level of math and english using great teachers from FCPS schools. Great competitive environment. If you have an AAP or academically aggressive kid (since their content runs at least a grade level above), this would be a good place to spend 3-4 weeks in the summer. If on the other hand, you coddle your children and think they will be psychologically damaged if asked to multiple 2-digit numbers during the summer, this is not the camp for you. FWIW, we are not chinese but our kids loved this place last summer. |

| This is the school that caused FCPS to have to make up its own cogat test-an FCPS teacher who either worked or knew the owners stole copies of the test to "teach to the test". That was the year where a ton of kids scored really high. |

| It got my kid into AAP so I'd give it a thumbs up! She breezed through the CoGAT test because she had worked on an identical one at Sunshine Academy. She is thriving in 7th grade AAP center now. Go for it! |

Low IQ ANTI-Asian troll. With the idiocy exhibited by you, I doubt your child could get into AAP even if she had previously worked on an identical test. Too bad she inherited the dumb gene (hopefully she isn't an asshole like you). |
