Our DC has started guitar lessons at B2R and it appears that DC's interest is steady. We are having difficulty locating a guitar teacher or music school that has experience with some of the learning differences central to dyslexia (ie: importance of explicit instruction, difficulty with L/R, importance of visual cues) in the greater DMV area. Any ideas?
Zach at Groove in Rockville has been fabulous with our DC who has ADHD issues. Don't know about his experience with dyslexia in particular, but he's great with kids with various learning differences. I suggest calling him and asking .
There's a guy named Steve Barke who is probably the most incredibly patient guitar teacher in the universe. I don't know that he has any experience with dyslexia, but he's super nice and flexible and seems like he's very good about tailoring lessons to what a child is able to do.
